Dr. William Martin

Central Vet Family Member since January 1981.
Location: Downtown

Dr. William “Bill” Martin was raised in Hendersonville, TN. He graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1978 with a B.S. in Animal Science. He graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine in 1981. He worked as a veterinary assistant at Central Veterinary Hospital before becoming a veterinarian. He loves his job and has a life long commitment to veterinary medicine. He enjoys building long lasting relationships with his patients and clients. In his spare time he enjoys bicycle riding, swimming, and working out at National Fitness. He has one cat, Tabitha, at the moment, but has a soft spot for Corgis.

Dr. Benny Ferrell

Central Vet Family Member since July 1995.
Location: Downtown

Born in Memphis, Tennessee, Dr. Ferrell attended the University of Memphis before moving to Knoxville where he graduated from the University of Tennessee with a B.S. in Animal Science in 1981. He graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 1984. Dr. Ferrell practiced small animal medicine from 1984 until he came to Central Veterinary Hospital in 1995. In addition to general veterinary care, Dr. Ferrell is also trained in ultrasound examination and evaluation techniques. Dr. Ferrell loves connecting with his patients. In his spare time he enjoys gardening and the outdoors. He enjoys spending time with his family; his wife Patty, his daughter Emily and son Ben.

Dr. Amanda Brzozowski “Dr. B”

Central Vet Family Member since June 2019.
Location: Downtown – Urgent Care

Dr. Brzozowski (Dr. B) is originally from Washington State but found her new home in beautiful East Tennessee when she moved here for veterinary school in 2015. Dr. B is a 2019 graduate of The University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine and started working at Central Veterinary Hospital in June of 2019. She has loved being a part of the Central Vet family and forming relationships with her clients and their fur children!  Dr. B currently resides in Farragut, TN with her husband Joe and bonus son Levi. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, fly fishing, reading, and watching her son play hockey! She has three fur children: Sammie Lou, Crosby, and Tuukka! Dr. B works at both our downtown and West Knoxville locations.

Dr. Wesley Keele

Central Vet Family Member since June 2012.
Location: Choto

Dr. Wesley Keele grew up on a farm in Manchester, TN. He moved to Knoxville in 2004 to attend the University of Tennessee and has remained in Knoxville. Dr. Keele started working at Central Vet after graduation in 2012 and became a partner in 2015. Dr. Keele has a special interest in surgery, especially more complex soft tissue and orthopedic procedures and has additional training in ultrasonography. He has been married since 2012 to his wife Margaret, who is a physical therapist with Covenant Health. Dr. Keele and Margaret have 3 children, twins Jackson and Ellie and Hayes. They also have three little “fur” kids a Shi tzu Max, a miniature schnauzer Belle, and a poodle Wally. In his spare time, Dr. Keele enjoys spending time with his family, running, and traveling.

Dr. Dustin Patterson

Central Vet Family Member since June 2015.
Locations: Downtown and Northeast

A West Tennessee native, Dr. Patterson is a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Martin and the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. He practiced mixed animal medicine in Dickson, TN before joining the Central team in 2015. When he’s not working, Dr. Patterson enjoys spending time with his wife, two children, and cat. Dr. Patterson sees patients at the downtown and northeast offices.

Dr. Andy Shoultz

Central Vet Family Member since July 2018.
Location: Northeast

Dr. Shoultz is originally from Southern Indiana. He graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 2017. He spent his last year of internship at a veterinarian in Louisville, KY. Dr. Shoultz and his wife have a daughter named Isla. They also have a hound mix named Rosalind and a cat named Tripp. In his spare time he enjoys St. Louis Cardinals baseball, trail running, biking around Knoxville, and spending time with his wife and daughter.

Dr. Katherine Kirchberg

Central Vet Family Member since September 2020.
Location: Downtown

Dr. Kathryn Kirchberg is an East Tennessee native. She studied Biology at Sewanee: The University of the South and graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine with her DVM in 2019. Since then Dr. Kirchberg has been practicing small animal medicine in the East Tennessee area, and she particularly enjoys internal medicine, preventative care, and feline medicine. She loves getting to know her clients and patients, as well as helping to maintain the special bond that they share. Dr. Kirchberg loves traveling, spending time outside, and reading. She and her husband, Jeff, have a sweet Golden Retriever named Penelope and a sassy cat named Tobi.

Dr. Brad Ervin

Central Vet Family Member since June 2021.
Location: Downtown

Dr. Ervin is an east Tennessee native originally from Kingsport, TN. He graduated from LMU College of Veterinary Medicine in 2018 and started working at Central Veterinary Hospital in June of 2021. Before coming here he was practicing mixed animal medicine for three years. He really enjoys surgery and developing long lasting relationships with his clients and patients. Dr. Ervin currently lives in the Old Historic North District of Knoxville with his wife, Elaine, and his two dogs Henley and Biggie. He loves the outdoors and when he’s not at the clinic you can find him fishing, hiking/camping, gardening and kayaking. He loves to travel and really enjoys food and coffee, especially pizza! He is known here as the “donut man” because he brings donuts to work every Friday. He is a big time Vols and Braves fan. Dr. Ervin works at both our downtown and Northeast locations.

Dr. Emmie Truett

Central Vet Family Member since August 2021.
Location: Downtown – Urgent Care

Dr. Truett grew up moving around internationally and stateside, but has always referred to Knoxville as her home. She went to the University of Tennessee for undergrad and is a 2019 graduate of The University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. She lives with her husband, Thomas, and their numerous hooved, feathered, and furry children on their hobby farm. She spends most of her free time outside gardening, hiking, reading, traveling, trying out new breweries and restaurants around town, or spending time with friends and family. She is thrilled to be part of the Central Vet family and looks forward to building long lasting relationships with her clients and patients.

Dr. Erin Holt

Central Vet Family Member since October 2022.
Location : Choto

Dr. Holt grew up in a military family and was able to travel coast to coast as a child. She attended Farragut High School, followed by UT for a Bachelors in Psychology, Masters in Public Health and Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. She has been practicing in Northern Louisiana since graduation 3 years ago. She shares her life with 2 fur kids, a 5 year old terrier mix named Abner and a 3 year old French Bulldog named Juniper. She loves improving the human animal bond and getting to know both clients and patients. Her favorite part of being a vet is doing soft tissue surgeries and animal dentistry.

Dr. Emily Svec

Central Vet Family Member since June 2022
Location: Northeast

Dr. Svec was born in Columbus, Ohio, but spent most of her time growing up in Southern California. She moved to Knoxville in 2018 to attend University of Tennessee veterinary school where she graduated in 2022. She started working at Central Veterinary Hospital after graduation and looks forward to building lasting relationships with clients and patients and helping to strengthen the bond between them. She shares her home with her dog, Laika, and three cats, Calvin, Leelu, and Moth. In her free time she enjoys hiking, gardening, and pottery.

Dr. Sarah Beckner

Central Vet Family Member since 2020
Location: Downtown

Dr. Beckner is from Bristol, TN and has always considered East Tennessee home. She graduated from the University of Tennessee, with a degree in Animal Science for her undergraduate studies, before moving to the beautiful Southern Caribbean island of Grenada. While in Grenada, she attended St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine. She then completed her clinical training back in Knoxville, at the University of Tennessee, before receiving her DVM. Dr. Beckner enjoys playing tennis, traveling, reading and perhaps most of all, spending time with her furchild, Sully, a Golden Retriever. You may recognize Dr. Beckner from her time as a veterinary assistant at our downtown location while finishing vet school! She is ecstatic to be part of the Central Vet family again and looks forward to continuing to help clients and patients stay happy and healthy

Dr. Miguel Ángel de Villa

Central Vet Family Member since July 2023.
Location: Downtown

Dr. Miguel Ángel de Villa was born in Venezuela and grew up in sunny South Florida. He completed his undergradate studies in biology and chemistry at Florida State University in 2014 and graduated with high honors at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in May 2023. In June of 2023, Dr. de Villa moved to Knoxville, TN along with his fiancé, Jess. He has been practicing at Central Veterinary Hospital since July 2023. Dr. de Villa’s particular interests in veterinary medicine include dermatology, ophthalmology, internal medicine, and soft tissue surgery as well as primary care and dentistry. In his spare time, Dr. Miguel enjoys playing and watching tennis, hiking, traveling, eating, and spending time with his family, including his dog and cat, Olive and Otter. Dr. de Villa currently practices in the downtown clinic. Dr. de Villa is also fluent in spanish and is looking forward to being able to help our clients feel at ease during their visits (el Dr. de Villa habla español y puede ver clientes y sus mascotas en español).

Dr. Megan Broadrick

Central Vet Family since July 2023
Location: Northeast

Dr. Broadrick is from Nashville, TN and moved to Knoxville with her husband, Carson, in 2018. They have enjoyed living here and consider it our home. They love spending time with friends and family, exploring nature, and discovering all the yummy food and coffee shops that are around. She also enjoys picking flowers and going to art museums.

She got started in this field as a licensed veterinary nurse many years ago and loved every minute of it. I decided to go back to school to become a Veterinarian and graduated from UTCVM in 2023. It has been quite the rewarding journey for her and she wouldn’t trade it for anything. She finds special interest in soft tissue surgery, dentistry, internal medicine, and wellness care.

What she loves the most about veterinary medicine is having the privilege to not only care for all types of animals, but the humans as well. The relationship between us and our furry (or not furry) friends is so special and she takes joy in being a part of that.

Madeleine Masse Womble – Practice Manager

Central Vet Family Member since January 1999.
Location: Downtown

Madeleine was born in Quebec, Canada, moved to the USA back in the 80’s. Following her husband Jeff’s military service, they returned to his hometown, Knoxville TN. They now live in Union County where they enjoy the quiet country life. She has three grown children all graduates of UTK. She has two grandchildren, Keira and Caspian. She spends her free time enjoying her family, the outdoors, tennis, boating and church family. She is the blessed owner of two dogs, Bandite, a Jack Russell born at the clinic and Mocha, who was an owner surrender.

Kelly – Hospital Manager

Central Vet Family Member since August 2008.

Kelly was born in Burlington, Vermont. She moved to Polk County, Tennessee in 1993, and to Knoxville in 2003 to attend the University of Tennessee for a degree in Natural Resource and Environmental Economics. She started working at Central Vet part-time while she attended school. After graduating, Kelly began working full time and became our hospital manager. Outside of the clinic, Kelly loves to use her creativity while cooking, baking, and crafting. Kelly loves spending time with friends, family, and especially her husband, Buster, and daughter, Evelyn.

Mercedes – Client Relation Specialist Supervisor

Mercedes was originally born in St. Petersburg, Florida. She started out working as an after school volunteer in 2009 and was officially hired in November 2010. She has attended Pellissippi State Technical Community College. She loves working with animals, and has spent time at an animal sanctuary in Costa Rica. She has four cats – Cappuccino, Maple, Milo and Peter Parker. In her free time she enjoys reading, watching TV, and being with family.

Dawn, our Choto Clinic manager, was helpful when we opened this location. She has been in the veterinary field for over 20 years working in all departments including management. Originally from Union, IL, her family moved to Knoxville May 2020. Dawn currently resides in Rockford, Tn with her husband Rodney and youngest son Danny. In her spare time, she enjoys camping, raising and showing Netherland Dwarf rabbits, and spending time with her grandbaby, Madison. Her crazy house of animals includes her 3 dogs, Shelby the lab, Stitch the sheltie, and her wild border collie puppy Simba, her African Grey Parrot Harley, and her cat Chappie.
